Our Adult Literacy & Training Centers provide High School Equivalency (HSE) test preparation classes throughout Northwest Indiana. Like a high school diploma, passing this test increases a person’s job opportunities, helps them earn higher pay, and allows them to go to college or pursue a trade.
Please reach us at grad219@cwicorp.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
A high school equivalency exam (HSE) tests the basic skills and knowledge learned in high school and gives a credential like a high school diploma.
If you're 16 or older and have lived in Indiana for 30 days, you can take an HSE test if you are not in high school. If you're 17 or younger, you'll need a completed exit form signed by a superintendent, which is different from the one provided by high schools for withdrawal.
There is no fee to register or take classes. The HiSet exam is $160 but enrolled students can qualify for funds to cover the cost of exam.
We offer support to match your pace. Successful completion of the program depends on assessment scores, completing in-class and homework assignments, and the time you invest in your studies.
Indiana allows students to combine passing scores from different HSE tests (TASC, HiSET, or GED). This helps students who have partially passed the TASC test to complete their high school equivalency by taking the remaining subjects in either the HiSET or the GED. To qualify, all scores must be from 2014 or later.
